Mic Travers is a singer, songwriter and full time working entertainer based in South East Queensland. He performs at many festivals and public events and has been a finalist in the Australian National Song Writing Contest. He hosts several weekly traditional jam sessions and coordinates local song writing workshops and performances.
Mic performs over 200 shows a year as a solo performer or with his band. Mic has self produced two solo albums and various compilations which have received sustained airplay on radio stations around the country. He has been a recent guest on ABC Brisbane, ABC Darwin and many Local Radio Stations. He is a regular guest on 99.7FM and is a regular feature artist in his local Shire.
His CD Boots and All was recently featured as Album of the Week on 98.9FM and the track Union Song reached the Top 20 on the National Indigenous Country Music Charts. The Album has sold over 1000 copies.
Mic currently gigs full time around South East Queensland and is set to release his new LP with the Mic Travers Band in Mid 2009.
Mic has performed at the Woodford Folk Festival, The Australian Celtic Festival, The Brisbane Folk Festival, The Pine Rivers Multicultural Festival and The Pine Rivers Festival, Top Half Folk Festival, The Woodford Tree Planting Festival and many more local community festivals as well as maintaining a hectic gigging schedule on the corporate and pub circuits around South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
