Mic Travers is a singer, songwriter and full time working entertainer. He performs at many festivals and public events and has been a finalist in the National Song Writing Contest with his song Good Ship Sarena. He hosts several weekly traditional jam sessions and coordinates local song writing workshops and performances. Together with his band Mic performs over 200 shows a year. His Album, Boots And All has had four Top Ten hits on the All Australian Top 20 Music Charts including The Waif’s Final Tome which made number 1 in 2009.
Mic has self produced two solo albums and various compilations which have received sustained airplay on radio stations around the country and has just finished production of his new album with his band. He has been a regular guest and a feature artist on 98.9FM, ABC Brisbane, ABC Darwin, 2CBD and many Local Radio Stations around the country. He is also a regular guest on 99.7FM and is a feature artist in his local Shire. His CD Boots and All was featured as Album of the Week on 98.9FM and the tracks Union Song, Sailin’ Boy, The Waif’s Final Tome and Good Ship Sarena reached the Top 10 on the All Australian Top 20 Music Charts and the National Indigenous Country Music Charts. The album has sold over 1500 copies.
Mic currently gigs full time around South East Queensland with a strong focus on developing a sustainable regional touring network and is set to release his new LP Briefly, Briefly with the Mic Travers Band.
Mic has performed at the Woodford Folk Festival, The Australian Celtic Festival, The Brisbane Folk Festival, The Pine Rivers Multicultural Festival, Top Half Folk Festival, The Woodford Tree Planting Festival, The First Settlement Festival, and many other local community festivals as well as maintaining a hectic gigging schedule on the corporate and pub circuits around South East Queensland. Mic also performed as part of the Queensland Arts Council Ontour series in 2008/2009.
